In 1977, a group of finance
personnel of the PPA Head Office
pooled their resources to form a
common fund from which were
drawn financial loans to members
in times of need. This small
group expanded its membership
and activities over the years.
Inspired by the modest success
of its operation,
the group worked the
formalization of its
organization into a cooperative
credit union which was initially
called the PPA Employees
Kilusang Bayan for Credit, Inc.
(PPAEKBA).
With the Enactment of RA 6938
otherwise known as the
Cooperative Code of the
Philippines on July 14,1989, the
PPAEKBA was incorporated under
the name PPA Employees
Development Cooperative,
Incorporated or what is now
called PPAEDCO onJuly 23,1993.
